Year 6 Homework - Due 15/10/26 Reading The aim in year 6 is to strengthen fluency, increase vocabulary, and build confidence through regular practice. Reading at home as well at school helps progress and encourages consistent reading habits. Your support at home is greatly appreciated. Spellings Each week Year 6 will have a new set of 10 spellings that will be posted on the blog. Please support your child with learning these over the week. Thank you! Here are some different ways you can practise the spellings -  Maths Each week there will be Maths homework handed to the pupils on a Thursday. This homework will be based on areas of focus, pre-teaching for following lessons and recapping core subject areas. Please support them in completing this. Thank you. Have a lovely week! Braintree Foodbank Collection

 Today the Braintree Foodbank came to collect all the food that was very kindly donated to us. The Rotakids helped pack all the boxes, before they were loaded onto the van to be taken back to Braintree.  A big thank you to everyone who donated items, we will receive a certificate from the Foodbank in due course letting us know how much we have raised.

Reading meeting 08.10.26

 Thank you to those who were able to attend our reading meeting this afternoon, we hope you found it a useful insight into how we teach reading at Kelvedon. 2L Jelly Instructions

2L have been looking at instructions this week in English. We have written our own set of instructions on how to make jelly. Today, we got to make jelly ourselves and will be enjoying this tomorrow afternoon. We all had a great time and had lots of fun!! Please take a look at the photos of our day!

Visit from Chelmsford Mountaineering Club

 This afternoon in Year 4, we were joined by Kev from Chelmsford Mountaineering Club. He spoke about how he has travelled all around the world, climbing different mountains. He also gave us facts about different mountains and shared some amazing pictures. At the end of the session, he showed us the equipment he uses when he climbs. Everyone in Year 4 had an amazing time!
