English - Retelling a story

 Today, we learnt about how to become a successful and engaging story teller.  We watched a clip from Michael Rosen where he told us about the features that keep a listener engaged.  We discussed speed, rhythm, the use of voice, the use of sound, gestures and being confident.

We used the story of Hansel and Gretal as this is well known to us.  We began the story together, thinking of actions and gestures to support the story telling and in small groups we continued the story.

As a year group we tried really hard and embedded our understanding of story telling!  Please excuse the background noise - It was break time for some classes and we had all of our windows and doors open!
