Weekly Round-Up 29.1.26

 Story focus: Percy the Park Keeper stories by Mick Inkpen.

Literacy focus: we have daily Phonics and handwriting sessions.  We have individual reading sessions, practising our blue Phonics book or reading books. Some of us have started writing captions, 'holding' the phrase and then writing it with fnger spaces - quite tricky! Please see previous post about writing. 

Maths focus: subitising and composition of 5. We enjoyed singing 5 Little Speckled Frogs and used out fingers and objects to help us see how 5 is made.

PE Focus: we had to have a change this week and used the scooter boards instead of gymnastics. They are always fun! 

Science focus:changes in winter - birds. We are going to do some bird spotting next week. We have been learning about birds being good builders and looking at images to describe their features. We know that some birds fly away for the winter because it is too cold and that others need food as insects and berries are scarce. 

PSED focus: Zones of Regulation. We recapped naming emotions. 

We always enjoy COOL Time (Choosing Our Own Learning) and we practise lots of skills during this time.
