Weekly Round-Up 26.2.26

Story focus: Chloe's Lunar New Year by Lily LaMotte

Literacy focus: we have daily Phonics and handwriting sessions.  We have individual reading sessions, practising our blue Phonics book or reading books.

Maths focus:
patterns and shape. We looked at shapes around our school.

This is a _______ pattern.
A circle has one round side.
A triangle has three straight sides and 3 corners.

PE focus: we have started a new unit called Explore, Evade, Escape and will be playing games.

PSED focus: Lunar New Year. Our book of the week told us about Lunar New Year and we watched My First Festivals to find out more about how it is celebrated.

We always enjoy COOL Time (Choosing Our Own Learning) and we practise lots of skills during this time.

Some of the children had their own Lunar New Year feast (just like Chloe's family in the story). We explored lucky red envelopes and chopsticks!
