 Story focus: Dave and Greta Make the World Better by Matt Carr




Literacy focus: we have daily Phonics and handwriting sessions.  We have individual reading sessions, practising our blue Phonics book or reading books. 


Maths focus: 
recognising larger numbers on fingers as '5 and a bit'
number position in the counting sequence using more than and less than; comparison.

We played Peekaboo with the Numberblocks, investigating who could hide behind Numberblock 6, who couldn't and why. 


6 is made of 5 and 1.
7 is made of 5 and 2
8 is made of 5 and 3.

PE focus: we played a new game called Kangeroos and Crocodiles.  We have started to get the hang of this game and will play again!

PSED focus: being safe inside and outside.

Science focus: what is recycling?  We looked at a bag of recyling, noticing the recycling symbol, and talked about what could be recycled and what couldn't be recycled. 

Mrs Whybrow helped us perform an experiment about recycling water from dirty to clean, using a filter and layers. We noticed the water changed colour! 









We always enjoy COOL Time (Choosing Our Own Learning) and we practise lots of skills during this time.
