Weekly Round-Up 22.5.26

Some parents have said that the Rhino Reader texts are not working online; we read the Rhino Reader several times at school so please read their blue book and other reading book instead.

Story focus: Aesop's Fables. RW read The Tortoise and The Hare and RJ read The Lion and The Mouse.

Literacy focus: we have daily Phonics and handwriting sessions.  We now have a Literacy session where we discuss a picture, compose sentences and then write them.  We also have individual reading sessions, practising our blue Phonics book or reading books.

Maths focus: comparison. We ordered towers of cubes and numerals, thinking about their position and their size.  What number coms first? What is the biggest number? What number is in the middle? What number comes after 7? Why? We remembered that the next numeber is 1 more as you go up the staircase and 1 less as you go down.

We also played bowling to help us practise our bonds to 10.

1 more than __ is __.

1 less than ___ is __.

PE focus: Crawl, Climb, Collect

Understanding the World focus: we watched some clips of the camera trap by the big tree. We saw lots of cats, some deer and a hedgehog. We also found out about a famous Natural Historian called David Attenborough, who recently turned 100!

PSED focus: keeping healthy

Music focus: pulse

We always enjoy COOL Time (Choosing Our Own Learning) and we practise lots of skills during this time.
