Year 6 Creative Homework
This term, our Year 6 pupils have been given a Creative Homework Challenge designed to encourage independence, creativity and a love of learning beyond the classroom.
Rather than completing the same task each week, pupils have a choice of 10 exciting activities linked to our learning. They can decide which tasks they would like to complete and how they would like to present their ideas. This gives pupils the opportunity to take ownership of their learning and allows them to explore their own interests.
Pupils are encouraged to think carefully about how they want to show their learning. They could create models, posters, games, stories, comics, fact files, maps or something completely different!
The aim is not simply to produce a finished piece of work, but to research, create, problem-solve and develop ideas independently. Choice-based creative homework is also a great way for children to share their learning with their families and develop confidence in their own ideas.
Remember – there is no single 'right' way to complete a creative homework task. Be imaginative, be independent and, most importantly, enjoy your learning!
