Maths in Year 1

In our maths this week, we have been learning about number. Have a look at our learning this week.

Throughout the week in maths, we developed our understanding of comparing and ordering numbers. We began by learning to use the symbols < and > to show less than and greater than, using multi-link to represent and compare numbers. 

We then built on this learning by using dice to generate numbers and compare them, practising the stem sentences “___ is greater than ___”, “ ___ is less than ____” and “____ is equal to ___”. We challenged ourselves to describe the same numbers in different ways before consolidating our learning by using dominoes to order numbers from smallest to greatest.
