This week, we are playing lots of Christmas- themed games. Today in RJ, we had to give directions for George to reach the decorations. We used the words forwards, backwards and turn. He was doing a lot of turning!

 Today, we were lucky enough to get a visit from Father Christmas and one of his elves!  He read us the story of 'The Night Before Christmas' and treated us to a special sweet treat each! We were very excited and very polite!

 In Science, we completed our topic of 'Animals including humans', by looking at our sense of smell.  We were able to use our past learning on our other four senses, to understand how we smell.   We covered our eyes and Mrs Brown gave us different things to smell.  We came up with some amazing new vocabulary to describe the smells such as, 'calm', 'strong', 'peaceful', 'pleasant' and 'unpleasant'.

Wow! What a busy day today. Beginning with the Christmas church service, coming back to our Christmas Dinner and crackers and finishing with some Christmas crafts.  Lots of fun all around!

 A jam-packed day for all at Kelvedon St Mary's! Starting with the children arriving in a multitude of extraordinary Christmas jumpers. Followed by a lovely Christmas themed church service. To then return to the smell of Christmas dinner being cooked for us all to enjoy! We are all certainly in the Christmas spirit now!

 Year 2 had a fantastic day yesterday! They were lucky enough to have a very exciting day recreating the life of people living through the Great Fire of London. They were then able to explore and dig up the ruins of London. Have a look at some of the fun they had!
